Armenia & the
Art of Healing

In Summer of 2023 I had the privilege of being selected to direct CSULA's first ever international film project in the city of Yerevan, Armenia. As director, I was tasked with managing a small crew of CSULA alumni and documenting the university's classical guitar ensemble, following their concert series and interaction with Armenia's rich culture and community. Through this experience, we had the opportunity to collaborate with UNHCR Armenia and interact with not only members and representatives of UNHCR but also members of Yerevan's rural communities and refugee villages. I feel very honored to have been chosen to take my abilities as a director overseas to capture the experience of the ensemble as well as highlight the beauty of Armenia and its people. This film is a testament to the power of filmmaking and its ability connect people from all over the world, highlighting the things that make us the same and at the same time, wonderfully unique.
